YOU ARE INVITED TO: 
Participate in the 1st Kentucky Office for the Blind Assistive Technology EXPO and Conference.  The theme is “2012 AT Odyssey – A New Vision”.


PURPOSE OF THE EVENT:
The Assistive Technology Expo will be a two-day event designed to increase awareness and provide current information on assistive technology.   The purpose of this Expo is to demonstrate the variety of technology available and will feature exhibitors from the field of visual impairment and be an open house and product/service demonstration.   In addition to the exhibits, there will be presentations of specific products.  The expo will provide individuals the opportunity to view a wide range of adaptive products that are both high and low tech for people who are blind or visually impaired or deaf blind. 


ATTENDEES will include:
   Office for the Blind staff, employers, transition students, teachers of the visually impaired, individuals who are blind or visually impaired and their family members and community rehabilitation providers.  The AT EXPO is free and open to the public.


WHO SHOULD EXHIBIT:  Any company that has a focus on assistive technology specific to the field of visual impairment.  There are a limited number of booth spaces so register early to reserve your space.  There are no costs associated with the exhibit booth space.  You should bring your own black tape, surge protectors and cords as they are not provided without additional cost to the exhibitor. 


THE EXHIBIT HALL:

• Open to the public free of charge on Tuesday, September 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 19th from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. 
• Set up will be on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and tear down on Wednesday, September 19th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. prior to the closing keynote session luncheon.

Each booth includes an 8’ table, two chairs, cloth and skirting and electrical outlets at no cost. Additional tables, services and other equipment are available at the expense of the exhibitor and must be made through:

CONFERENCE OFFERINGS

• Opening Main Session by  Luis Perez Florida Center for Instructional Technology (FCIT) at the University of South Florida
• Employment  Sessions by Beth Loy, the Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
• Session for Deaf Blind with Anindya (Bapin) Bhattachary
• Keynote Closing Luncheon Session with speaker Michael Hingson well known speaker and author (limited seating). 
• Sixteen different breakout workshop sessions covering employment, independent living and recreation. 

EXHIBITOR SHOWCASE

On Tuesday, September 18 during the main opening session, we will have an exhibitor showcase from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Each exhibitor will have approximately one minute to give a quick overview to the attendees regarding the products on display at their booth in the exhibit hall. 

UNATTENDED TABLE DISPLAY

If you are unable to staff a booth at the AT Expo, but would still like to participate, you can register to have an unattended table with your products displayed.  See the Exhibitor form for more information.
